Want a very smooth and rich tone with less grit and the earlier breakup of the JJ EL844's? This is our Low Output Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Vintage VOX AC30 Top Boost and 90's era AC30 Reissue amps. It contains a matched quad of JJ EL844's for power to drop the overall output a couple decibels, a GZ34 rectifier tube, one Gold Pin ECC82 along with five Gold Pin ECC83S's one of them being current balanced for the phase inverter in V6.

The Gold Pin ECC82 is the third tube away from the input jacks. The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located in V6 farthest from the input jacks.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL844’s and the GZ34. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of four small damper rings and one large damper for the GZ34 and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two which is very noticeable.
