Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the VOX AC30HH and AC30H2 Heritage amps. It contains a matched quad of JJ EL84's for power, a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube, a Gold Pin EF806 for V1 along with three Gold Pin ECC83S's one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V4.

Just let us know in the comments section if you're looking for an early breakup, a moderate breakup or a later breakup for more headroom in which case we will choose the coolest grades we have available for the power tubes.

The Gold Pin EF806 replaces the EF86. The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located in V4 farthest from the input jacks.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL84’s and the GZ34. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of four small dampers and one large damper for the GZ34 and will greatly decrease tube rattle. ** Note; the wire tube retainers will not fit all the way over the damper rings.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
