Want all the gain you can get? This is the High Gain Option Retube Kit for the Traynor YCV 80. The preamp section uses three handpicked High Gain ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V3. The power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ 6L6GC's.

The Balanced High Gain ECC83S is located in V3 farthest from the input jack!

The YCV 80 amps have a bias compensation circuit but it's just to balance unmatched power tubes. It does not adjust the plate current up or down, it is basically a fixed bias amp. These amps can use 6L6GC's in a moderate grade and the bias will be right where it should be.
