ToneKing Sky King Gold Pin Retube Kit

This kit contains a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's with Double Mica spacers, a JJ 5U4GB rectifier tube, and five Gold Pin JJ ECC83S, with one balanced for the phase inverter in V5. This retube kit will give the amp a smoother and creamier breakup. Gold Pin tubes lack the grit or "hair" on the tone that you get with the non-gold pin tubes.

JJ 6L6GC Double Mica tubes are made solely for Eurotubes by JJ Electronic. These tubes were developed for us to greatly reduce the possibility of "tube rattle" when used in combo amps. All of our "Retube Kits" for combo amps are shipped with the Double Mica tubes at the same price as standard tubes.

Tube location info: The balanced ECC83S is located in V5 for the phase inverter, which is closest to the power tubes.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two 6L6GC power tubes and the rectifier tube. These are available in the "Related Products" tab as a set and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These are cathode biased amps so the JJ 6L6GC's are plug and play.
