This is our Gold Pin Option for the Low Output SRV kit. It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. It contains a matched quad of JJ EL844's (to drop the output a couple decibels) along with a Gold Pin 5751 for V1, a standard Gold Pin ECC83S for V2 and a graded high current Gold Pin ECC83S for V3.

The graded high current Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes and the Gold Pin 5751 is located in V1.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. Unlike the Classic 50 amps where the tubes are up in the chassis, the Classic 30 and Delta Blues amps have the tubes exposed and ground zero to the speakers. This can cause a lot of tube rattle. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL844’s. These will greatly decrease tube rattle, however you will need to remove the wire retainers to use them.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made.

The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two.
