Peavey Classic 30 / 50 & Delta Blues Low Output Normal Clean High Gain Lead ECC803S V1 Option

This is the Low Output Normal clean / High gain lead Retube Kit with an ECC803S for V1. This Retube Kit contains an ECC803S for V1 for a little less gain, a thicker mid and a little more high end. We follow that up with a high gain ECC83S for V2 which gives the OD channel as much attitude as possible. We finish it off with a graded high current ECC83S for V3 and a matched quad of JJ EL844's for power (which drop the output a couple decibels).

The graded high current ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes and the High Gain ECC83S is located in V2.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. Unlike the Classic 50 amps where the tubes are up in the chassis, the Classic 30 and Delta Blues amps have the tubes exposed and ground zero to the speakers. This can cause a lot of tube rattle. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL84’s. These will greatly decrease tube rattle, however you will need to remove the wire retainers to use them.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made.

The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two.
