We put this kit together just for Blues players! This is our Blues Option Retube Kit and it contains a matched quad of JJ EL84's in a hotter grade for power along with a standard ECC83S for V1, an ECC832 for V2 and a graded high current ECC83S for V3.

This kit uses an ECC832 in V2. It cuts down the gain by about 40% in the drive channel but retains a nice crisp attack and warm tone.

The graded high current ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes and the ECC832 is located in V2.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. Unlike the Classic 50 amps where the tubes are up in the chassis, the Classic 30 and Delta Blues amps have the tubes exposed and ground zero to the speakers. This can cause a lot of tube rattle. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL84’s. These will greatly decrease tube rattle, however you will need to remove the wire retainers to use them.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
