Power-Tubes
Here you do have two choices, one is to go with the JJ EL84's which sound great in these amps. The second choice is to go with the JJ EL844's, these are completely different tubes than the stock tubes your Orange amp came with, however these are plug and play with no mods necessary. The JJ EL844’s are a proprietary tube that JJ Electronic built at the request of Eurotubes. The dissipation of the JJ EL844 is 25% less than a standard EL84 so using the EL844’s will reduce the power a little in your amp. Please click on the “More Details” button for an explanation of the tonal differences between tubes.

V1
V1 is the preamp tube farthest away from the power tubes in the back row lined up with the power tubes. It is the main input and drive stage tube for channel one. Here you can maintain gain, reduce it, increase it or smooth it out with a Gold Pin tube. We left the "Quantity Field" active for those of you who may want a couple different V1 tubes to experiment with. Please click on the “More Details” button for an explanation of the tonal differences.

Rectifier-tubes
The standard rectifier tube for these amps is the GZ34 but if you want to lower the power in the amp you can use the JJ 5Y3S.

EuroDamper Tube Damper Rings
If your amp is the Combo version then you may want to consider using the EuroDamoer rings. The small EuroDamper Rings are for use on EL84 type power tubes and the large Damper rings are for use on octal tubes like the GZ34. These are great in small combo amps for reducing tube rattle. These will greatly decrease tube rattle, however you will need to remove the wire retainers to use them.
