Want all the gain you can get? This is our High Gain Option Retube Kit for the Mesa Royal Atlantic Heads and Combo Amps. The preamp section uses one ECC81 to replace the 12AT7 for the FX loop in V3, one standard ECC83S for the verb in V6 along with five handpicked High Gain ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V7. The default power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ Electronic E34L's however you can configure this kit to use a quad of the EL34II's, KT77’s, Big Bottle 6CA7’s, EL34, 6L6GC's or the JJ 5881's by clicking on the "Customize" button! 

The Balanced High Gain ECC83S is located in V7 farthest from the input jack, the standard ECC83S is located in V6 and the ECC81 is located in V3.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four power tubes. These are available under the "Related Products” tab as a quad and will greatly reduce tube rattle.




These amps are fixed bias with no adjustment. All power tube configurations are hand picked with grades that will run optimally with Mesas fixed bias design.
