Looking to warm up your Recto 25? This is our Standard Retube Kit for the Mesa Rectoverb 25 Heads and Combo Amps. It contains six ECC83S's with one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ EL84's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL844's for an earlier breakup by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V4 farthest from the input jack in the front row.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of all the vibrations. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with the amp you may want to consider using a pair of our EuroDamper rings for the two power tubes. These will greatly reduce tube rattle and are available under the "Related Products" tab.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).

The JJ EL844's are a lower power tube and will get you an earlier breakup.
