Mesa King Snake Combo Standard Retube Kit

Looking for a warmer tone from your King Snake Combo? This is our standard Retube Kit™ and it contains four standard ECC83S's for V1 thru V4 and a balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V5. The default power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ 6L6GC's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's by clicking on the "Customize" button!

We ship this kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC's which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. If you choose to use the JJ 5881's then we recommend using our tube Damper rings for these tubes.

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V5 closest to the input jack in the back row nearest the power tubes.

All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC's at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. If you choose to use the JJ 5881's we recommend using our EuroDamper rings.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made.

All our Mesa Retube Kits include power tubes that are hand selected to run perfectly in Mesa amps. We have extensive hands-on experience measuring the fixed bias points in these amps and what grade of tubes will achieve optimal performance.
