Need a little more gain and the earlier breakup of the JJ EL844's for your Mini Rec? This kit uses a matched pair of the JJ EL844's for power along with three handpicked high gain ECC83S's for V1, V2 and V3, one standard ECC83S for V5 along with a balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V4.

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V4 farthest from the input jack and the standard ECC83S in located in V5 in the back row next to the power tubes. The three High Gain ECC83S's are located in V1 thru V3.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two.
