Custom Kit
The Mark II series amps from the original Mark II thru the Mark II C plus vary widely. If we were to list all of the variations and possibilities there would be in excess of 300 kits! So our decision was to list a “Custom Kit” page for these amps. About the only thing near constant with the Mark II series amps is they all use a long tail Phase Inverter circuit and the PI tube is almost always located closest to the power tubes. The Mark IIB amps come in 60 and 100 watt versions, with verb and without verb, with and without EQ. Some of them with verb use a 12AX7 (ECC83) and some use a 12AT7 (ECC81) for the verb. This is usually noted on the chassis written in black felt pen. The Mark IIC and C Plus amps came in both 60 and 100 watt and some 100 watters are also Simulclass allowing the use of a pair of EL34 type tubes in the outside two power tube sockets. So to order a kit for your specific Mark II amp you need to know what tubes it uses! If you don’t know then take a look under the hood to make sure you’re ordering the right tubes. If your amp uses five preamp tubes then check your V4 preamp tube to see if it’s a 12AX7 or a 12AT7. Do not use any of the power tube combinations with 6L6GC’s and EL34 type tubes unless your amp is a Simulclass series amp. *** If you are unsure about selecting the right tubes just give us a call!

Power-Tubes
From the power tube section you can order matched pairs of 6L6GC and 5881's if your amp is the 60 watt version. You can order matched quads of the 6L6GC's and 5881's if your amp is the 100 watt version. If your amp is the Simulclass version then you can order matched pairs of any of the EL34 family of tubes including the EL34's, EL34 II's, E34L's, 6CA7's and KT77's which can be run in the outside two sockets. Read the "More details" for descriptions. Do not use any of the power tube combinations with 6L6GC’s and EL34 type tubes unless your amp is a Simulclass series amp.

Preamp-Tubes
The first two preamp tubes closest to the input jack in most all Mark II series amps will affect the tone and gain so you can increase, decrease or maintain the gain with any of the tubes listed. The Gold Pin tubes will give a smoother tone with less grit which may or may not suit your style. Read the "More details" for descriptions. We left the "Quantity Fields" active to make it easy to order more than one of any type tube. If your amp has four preamp tubes then V4 is your Phase Inverter, or if your amp has five preamp tubes then V5 is your PI tube and we always use a current balanced tube for this position. Any of the Balanced tubes listed at the bottom will work depending on what you want.

EuroDamper Tube Damper Rings
Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings. If your amp is the combo version then please let us know in the comments section. All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as, EL34’s, KT77's, 6CA7's and E34L’s, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings. These are 5.00 each.
