Want as much gain as you can get from your Lone Star amp? This kit uses a JJ 5U4GB rectifier tube, two handpicked High gain ECC83S's for V1 and V2, two standard ECC83S's for V3 and V4, and a balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V5. Maximum gain!

The default power tubes for this kit are a matched quad of JJ 6L6GC's in a warmer grade to accommodate the fixed bias design. With the Customize option you can also configure this kit for JJ 5881's, EL34's, EL34II's, E34L's, KT77's or the Big Bottle 6CA7's.

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V5 which is physically farthest from the input jack and in the back row of pre amp tubes.

If your amp is a combo amp then please let us know in the comments section. All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as GZ34’s, 5U4GB’s, EL34’s, E34L’s etc, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. All power tube configurations are hand picked with grades that will run optimally with Mesas fixed bias design.
