Want the smoothest ton possible from your Blue Angel? This kit contains a pair of JJ 6V6S's and a quad of JJ EL84's for the power section. For the front end three Gold Pin JJ ECC83S's for V1 thru V3, a standard ECC83S for V4 and a balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V5 and a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube.

Just let us know in the comments section if you're looking for an early breakup, a moderate breakup or a later breakup for more headroom in which case we will choose the coolest grades we have available for the power tubes.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located in V5 farthest from the input jack and the three Gold Pin ECC83S's are located in V1 thru V3.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four EL84’s, the two 6V6S's and the GZ34. These are available in the "Related Products” tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s and 6V6S's will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
