Want a real smooth rich tone with less grit? This is the Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Marshall 900 100 Watt 2100 SL-X series amps. The preamp section uses four Gold Pin ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are the JJ Electronic E34L’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77’s, Big Bottle 6CA7’s or the JJ 6L6GC's or 5881's if your amp came with 5881's by clicking on the "Customize" button. If your SL-X came with 5881's then we recommend you use the JJ 6L6GC's or 5881's unless your amp has been modded to use EL34's (Screen grid resistors & bias resistor swap).

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes in V4.

If your amp is the combo version and you have chosen to use the JJ 6L6GC's then please let us know in the comments section and we will ship your kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as EL34’s, KT77's, 6CA7's and E34L’s, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set. These will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These are all adjustable bias amps and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously. You can find all these under the Related Products Tab.

You can use the "Generic Bias Video" we made using a Marshall 800 for reference.
