Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is our Gold pin Option Retube Kit for the Magnatone Twilighter Combo Amps. The preamp section includes one Gold Pin ECC82 to replace the 12AU7 along with four Gold Pin ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V2. The kit includes a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube and the power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6V6S's.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located in V2 which is the farthest from the input jack in the front row, the Gold Pin ECC82 is located in V4.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two power tubes and the GZ34. These are available and a set of three large Damper rings.

These are adjustable bias amps and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.

You can use the "Generic Bias Video" we made using a Marshall 800 for reference.
