It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. Well, this works really well with the Magnatone amps too! This kit contains one ECC82 to replace the 12AU7, a 5751 for V1 along with five ECC83S's with two of them being current balanced for the phase inverters in V6 and V7. The default power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ EL84's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL844's by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The Balanced ECC83S's are located in V6 and V7 closest to the power tubes and the ECC82 is located in V2. The 5751 is located in V1.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four power tubes and the GZ34. These are available under the "Related Products” tab as a set of four for the power tubes and single large rings for the GZ34.

These amps are cathode bias so both the EL84's and EL844's are plug and play.
