It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. Well, this works really well with the Magnatone amps too! It contains two ECC82's to replace the 12AU7's, a 5751 for V1 along with four ECC83S's with two of them being current balanced for the phase inverters in V3 and V4. The kit includes a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube and the power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ 6V6S's.

The Balanced ECC83S's are located in V3 and V4 closest to the power tubes in each row and the ECC82's are located in V2 and V6. The 5751 is located in V1.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the four power tubes and the GZ34. These are available under the "Related Products” tab.

These are adjustable bias amps and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.

You can use the "Generic Bias Video" we made using a Marshall 800 for reference.
