JJ KT66 Matched Octet. One of our favorite tubes here at Eurotubes. These tubes have a clean low end response with a forward mid-range and articulate highs. When overdriven these tubes crunch up early in the upper mids and highs resulting in an incredibly complex tone that retains excellent low end clarity (just like the originals).

After a 24 hour burn in all power tubes are tested for noise and matched at multiple operating points for plate current (± one milliamp) and transconductance.

For those not familiar the KT66 is like a Brit version of the American 6L6GC. In a lot of applications they can be substituted freely for one another (filament, bias and space constraints considered). Compared to a 6L6GC, KT66's have a more aggressive mid-range and they clip in an un-linear fashion which results in crunchy upper-mids and highs while retaining a clean low end response.

For those looking to substitute KT66's in place of 6L6GC's, you need a minimum of 2-1/4" as measured from center to center between the power tube sockets for proper ventilation.
