Looking for a vintage vibe with FAT mids and a real sparkle? This is the ECC803S V1 Option Retube Kit for the Jet City 2112RC Combo Amp. The preamp section uses a JJ Long Plate ECC803S for V1 for a little lower gain with big thick mids and a little more sparkle in the highs along with four ECC83S with one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V4. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ EL84's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL844's to drop the power output a couple decibels by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V4 which is the fourth tube away from the input jack and the ECC803S is located in V1.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two EL84’s. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two small dampers and will greatly decrease tube rattle. ** Note; the wire tube retainers have to be spread out to fit over the damper rings.

These amps are adjustable bias. All you need to check and set the bias is one of our 9 pin bias probes with a Multimeter, or our all-in-one 9 pin "Pro One" bias probe (which reads plate voltage and plate current simultaneously). These are available under the "Related Products" tab.

EL84's should bias up to between 22 to 26 mA per tube.
The JJ EL844's are a 9 watt tube and should bias up to between 16 to 20 mA per tube.
