Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Gibson GA 8 Combo Amps. It contains one Gold Pin ECC83S a JJ 5Y3S rectifier tube and the default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6V6S's.

The Gold Pin ECC83S replaces the 12AX7.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two power tubes and the 5Y3S. These are available under the "Related Products” tab as set of three large rings.

These amps are cathode bias so the JJ 6V6S's are plug and play.
