Want a very smooth and rich tone with less grit? This is our Gold pin Option Retube Kit for the Gibson GA 5 Combo Amps. It uses a single Gold Pin ECC83S for the front end and the default power tube is a single JJ EL84. With the Customize option you can configure this kit to use a JJ EL844 which will drop the power output a couple decibels (ideal for players wanting decreased headroom/output).

The Gold Pin ECC83S replaces the 12AX7.

If you play by yourself in a quiet environment you may want to consider using our EuroDamper rings. These are available under the "Related Products" tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are cathode bias so both the EL84 and EL844 are plug and play.
