Want more BURN in the burn channel of your Supersonic Combo? This is our High Gain Option Retube kit. It uses for power standard ECC83S's in V1, V4, V5 and V10, two hand picked high gain ECC83S's for V2 and V3 along with one ECC81 and one balanced ECC81 for the phase inverter. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.

Tube location info: The Balanced ECC81 is located in V6 closest to the power tubes and the two high gain ECC83S's are located in V2 and V3. The standard ECC81 is located in V9.

All Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms.

All you need to adjust the bias on a these amps is a multimeter and you can use the test points #49 and #50 to measure the bias in Millivolts. You can also use a bias probe and digital multimeter to do the job or the Eurotubes "Pro One". All of these are are available in the "Related Products" tab.

We typically bias the JJ 6L6GC's in these amps to between 36 to as high as 44mA or 33 to 40mA for 5881's. If you use the test points you can use the HotRod Deluxe bias video for reference. The procedure is the same but the test point locations are different, see the image below.
