Want that Tweed tone along with the smooth rich sound of the Gold Pin tubes? This is the Tweed Gold Pin Option kit and it includes a matched pair of JJ EL84's, a Gold Pin JJ 12AY7 for V1, and a balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V2. The Gold Pin tubes are a little richer and smother sounding.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
