Years ago we did a lot of research for tubes that work well for harp players and unlike amps used for guitar, a harp amp likes a phase inverter tube that is NOT balanced. So this kit includes a matched pair of the JJ EL84's, standard ECC81 for V1 and an ECC832 for V2. This gets you more volume before feedback and accentuates the unique harmonics necessary for a great harp sound.

The ECC832 is located closest to the power tubes.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two.
