Are you after the smoothest richest tone you can get? This kit includes a matched pair of JJ EL84's, a standard Gold Pin ECC83S for V1, and a balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V2. The Gold Pin tubes are a little richer and smother sounding.

Just let us know in the comments section if you’re looking for max headroom, moderate or an early breakup so we can select a proper grade for the power tubes.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
