If Stevie was around to play one of these amps he would probably use his favorite V1 tube which was a 5751. The SRV Retube Kit uses a matched pair of the JJ 6V6S's for power, a JJ 5U4GB, two ECC83S's to replace the 12AX7's, a 5751 for V1 and an ECC81 to replace the 12AT7. Get up on the power tubes!

Tube location info: The ECC81 is located in V2 and the 5751 is located in V1. These amps use a split-load phase inverter circuit so no balanced tube is necessary.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two 6V6S’s and the 5U4GB. These are available in the "Related Products” tap as a set of three and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are fixed bias with no adjustment.
