Want the vintage Tweed tone and the smooth rich Gold pin sound AND the earlier breakup of the JJ EL844's? This is our Low Output Tweed Gold Pin Kit. This kit uses a matched pair of JJ EL844's for reduced power, a Gold Pin JJ 12AY7 for V1, a standard Gold Pin ECC83S's for V2 along with a balanced Gold Pin ECC83S for the phase inverter in V3. The Gold Pin tubes are a little richer and smother sounding.

The Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes and the Gold Pin 12AY7 is located in V1.

These amps are fixed biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. The JJ EL844’s are a drop in replacement for EL84’s. The EL844’s will reduce the power output of the amp by a decibel or two.
