If your 59RI is the LTD or later model that is adjustable bias then this kit can be used to reduce the output. This is our standard Retube Kit with either 5881's of 6V6S's. The front end includes three ECC83S preamp tubes with one of them balanced for the phase inverter in V3. The kit includes a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube and the default power tubes are the JJ Electronic 5881’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 6V6S’s by clicking on the "Customize" button.

The 5881's will drop the power down and the 6V6S's will drop it to a little less than 30 watts. Both options will result in an earlier breakup and a great vintage tone!

Tube location info: The Balanced ECC83S is located in V3 closest to the power tubes.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two power tubes and the GZ34. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of three and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

The first 59 reissue amps were fixed bias with no adjustment. The later reissue and LTD amps are adjustable bias and all you need to adjust the bias is a multimeter. These are are available in the "Related Products" tab.

You can use the HRD bias video for reference. We typically bias 59 Bassman's RI/LTD's between 60-75mV with the JJ 5881's and between 30-45mV with the JJ 6V6S's. The bias pot and test point are located inside the chassis.
