Want a very rich and sooth tone with less grit? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Epiphone Electar Tube 30 Combo Amps. It contains two Gold Pin ECC83S's for V1 and V2 and the default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ EL84's. With the Customize option you can configure this kit to use the JJ EL844's which will drop the power output a couple decibels (ideal for players wanting decreased headroom/output).

These amps use a split-load phase inverter circuit so there is no need for a current balanced tube. The preamp tubes can go in either location.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the power tubes. These are available under the "Related Products" tab as a set of two and will greatly reduce tube rattle.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
