We have had a number of requests for this tube so we decided to get a run of these made. The ECC823 is wired opposite of the ECC832. In the ECC823 the first half of the tube (pins 1, 2 and 3) are the high gain 12AX7/ECC83 spec and the second half (pins 6, 7 and 8) are the low gain 12AU7/ECC82 spec. So the ECC823 can be used in amps like the Mesa DC series in V1 to keep the clean channel stock and drop the gain down in the drive channel. Check your schematics or check with us before you order!

All our preamp tubes are stringently tested for noise and microphonics using Amplitrex testers driving an external amp. There is no extra charge for low noise and microphonics testing like with other tube vendors. Additionally the tubes undergo a battery of tests for basic performance characteristics and faults such as: Emissions, Transconductance, H-K and Grid leakage, etc... If a tube does not pass our strict performance criteria it's tossed or sent back to JJ Electronic for evaluation.

The JJ ECC823 is a reversed section 12DW7/ECC832. These tubes are ideal for reducing gain in pinpointed stages.

For the technical guys:
Pins 1-2-3 are the high gain side (12AX7/ECC83 spec).
Pins 6-7-8 are the low gain side (12AU7/ECC82 spec).
