Want a very rich and smooth tone with less grit? This is our Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Dr. Z Mazerati. It contains a matched quad of JJ EL84's for power, a JJ GZ34 rectifier tube along with a Gold Pin JJ ECC83S for V1 and a current balanced Gold Pin JJ 5751 for the phase inverter in V2.

Just let us know in the comments section if you're looking for an early breakup, a moderate breakup or a later breakup for more headroom in which case we will choose the coolest grades we have available for the power tubes.

The Balanced Gold Pin 5751 is located in V2 closest to the power tubes.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
