Like FAT mids and a sparkling high end? This is the ECC803S V1 Option Retube Kit for the Dr. Z Maz 8 Head and Combo Amps. It contains a single JJ EL84 for power, a GZ34 rectifier tube, one JJ ECC81, one Long Plate ECC803S for V1 along with three JJ ECC83S's.

Just let us know in the comments section if your looking for max headroom, moderate or an early breakup so we can select a proper grade for the power tube.

The ECC81 replaces the 12AT7 and the ECC803S is located in V1 closest to the input jack.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the EL84 and the GZ34. These are available in the "Related Products” tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of EL84 will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
