Want a really smooth and rich tone with less grit? This is the Gold Pin Option Retube Kit for the Diezel VH4S. The preamp section uses eight Gold Pin ECC83S's with two being current balanced for the phase inverters in V7 and V8. The default power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ Electronic 6L6GC's but you can configure this kit to use matched quads the JJ 5881's, KT66's, 6550, KT88's, E34L's, EL34II's, EL34’s or Big Bottle 6CA7’s by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The two Balanced Gold Pin ECC83S's are located in V7 and V8 which are both in the last two positions farthest from the input jack.

If you choose to use the KT66's, 6550's or KT88's and your amp has the "Bear Trap" style tube retainers you may want to swap these out for the "Spring and Cap" style retainers. These are 10.00 a quad or set of four and mount using the same screws as the stock retainers. These are also available under the "Related Products" tab.

These are adjustable bias amps and if you use the Diezel method of removing fuses to measure bias all you need is a Multimeter. This method is a bit tedious, it's much easier and convenient to use a bias probe and a Multimeter or our all-in-one "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.
