Want it your way? The "Custom Kit" is just that, you get to choose your power tubes and all your preamp tubes! We'll give you all the power tube options and then you can choose your V1 tube and all your other preamp tubes! We give you all the positions and you fill them!. We left the quantity fields open so that spares or multiple tubes could be ordered to experiment with.

The default power tubes are a matched quad of the JJ 6L6GC's. However you can select a quad of 5881's, EL34II's, E34L's, EL34's, KT77's or Big Bottle 6CA7's. Please see the "More Details" info for a detailed description of the tonal differences.

V1
The first position preamp tube closest to the input jack is what we call V1. It is the main input tube and shapes the entire tone stack, here you can maintain gain, reduce it, increase it or smooth it out with a Gold Pin tube. We left the "Quantity Field" active for those of you who may want a couple different V1 tubes to experiment with. The third tube from the input jack is what we call V3, it will affect the Lead channel, here you can again maintain gain, reduce it with an ECC832 or 5751, or increase it. You can smooth it out with a Gold Pin tube. The only tubes we stay away from here are the long plate ECC803S's which can feed back in this position. The sixth preamp tube from the input jack and the closest preamp tube to the power tubes is what we call V6, it is the phase inverter and we always use a current balanced tube in this position. EuroDamper Tube Damper Rings
If your amp is the combo version and you have chosen to use the JJ 6L6GC's then please let us know in the comments section and we will ship your kit with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as EL34’s, KT77's and 6CA7's, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings

Bias Probes and Multimeters
The non-Infinium amps are adjustable bias amps. You can use the factory test point and a Multimeter however this is not an accurate way to bias the amp. The most accurate way to set the bias is to use a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.
