It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. Well, this works really well with the Budda Superdrive amps too! This kit uses a JJ 5751 for V1 which is in-between an ECC81 and an ECC83S in gain, two ECC83S's one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V3 along with a JJ 5U4GB rectifier tube and a matched pair of JJ KT66's for power.

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V3 closest to the power tubes and the 5751 is located in V1.

If you want to use the correct tube retainers for KT66 tubes then the "Spring and Cap" style retainers are available. These mount right on the amp using the stock screws and allow you to correctly retain the stock tubes or use any full base KT66.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made.
