Want more warmth and definition? This is our Standard Retube Kit for the Bogner New Yorker Heads and Combo Amps. It contains a matched pair of JJ 6V6S's for power and two standard ECC83S's for V1 and V2. A nice upgrade from the stock tubes, sweet and warm!

These amps use a split-load phase inverter circuit so there is no need for a current balanced tube. The preamp tubes can go in either location.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two 6V6S’s. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two large dampers and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are cathode biased, there is no bias adjustment to be made. The amount of clean headroom you’ll get from the power section is somewhat dictated by the grade of power tube used. A cooler grade of 6V6S’s will give you more clean headroom, whereas a warmer grade will give you earlier breakup. If you order online, leave us a note in the comments section letting us know your headroom preference (max headroom, middle of the road or early breakup).
