It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. This kit uses a JJ 5751 for V1 which is in-between an ECC81 and an ECC83S in gain, a Balanced 12BH7A for the power section. A real nice combination!

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two tubes. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are adjustable bias, if you do not know the bias procedure you can contact us by email for assistance.
