Looking for a vintage vibe with FAT mids and a real sparkle? This is the ECC803S V1 Option Retube Kit for the Ampeg SJ12R & SJ12T Combo Amps. The preamp section uses a JJ Long Plate ECC803S for V1 for a little lower gain with big thick mids and a little more sparkle in the highs along with a current balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V2. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ Electronic 6L6GC’s but you can configure this kit to use the JJ E34L's, EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77’s, Big Bottle 6CA7’s or the JJ 6V6S's by clicking on the "Customize" button.

The Balanced ECC83S is located closest to the power tubes in V2.

The default power tubes are the JJ 6L6GC's and all our combo amp kits which use the 6L6GC's are shipped with the special Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge which will greatly reduce any tube rattle. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. For all other tubes such as 6V6S's, E34L's, EL34II's, EL34’s, KT77's and 6CA7's, we recommend using our EuroDamper rings. These are available under the "Related Products" tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These are adjustable bias amps and all you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously. You can find all these under the Related Products Tab.
