Product Details

This is our Tweed Option Retube Kit for the Ampeg GVT15. It contains a premium matched pair of JJ Electronic 6V6S's, a JJ 12AY7 for V1, and a current balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V2. The Tweed Option will drop the gain down a bit more than the SRV Option allowing you to get more power tube breakup at higher volumes. The JJ 12AY7 has a fat warm tone with a big shimmering sparkle in the high end!

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V2 closest to the power tubes.

Combo amps are very hard on tubes because of vibrations which can cause tube rattle with any brand of tube. If your amp is the combo version and you play by yourself in a quiet environment or record with your amp you may want to consider using the EuroDamper tube damper rings for the two 6V6S’s. These are available in the "Related Products” tab as a set of two large dampers and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These are cathode bias amps so there is no bias adjustment.
