Traynor YCV 40 Blues Option

This is our Blues Option Retube Kit and we but it together just for Blues players! This will drop the gain down in the drive channel and make it much more usable and natural sounding. This kit contains an ECC832 for V1, a standard ECC83S for V2 and a balanced ECC83S for the phase inverter in V3. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's but you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's or KT77’s by clicking on the "Customize" button!

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V3 farthest from the power tubes. The ECC832 is located in V1 closest to the input jack.

The original YCV 40 amps prior to April of 2008 have a bias compensation circuit but it's just to balance unmatched power tubes. It does not adjust the plate current up or down, it is basically a fixed bias amp. These amps can use 6L6GC's in a moderate grade and the bias will be right where it should be. They can also use hot grades of the JJ KT77's to get the bias right and give a little more British flavor.

All YCV 40 amps post April 2008 are full adjustable bias. All you need to check and adjust the bias is a bias probe and a Multimeter, or our all-in-one Eurotubes "Pro One" bias probe that reads both the plate current and the plate voltage simultaneously.
