It's no secret that Stevie played his amps cranked and preferred a little cleaner sound from the front end allowing you to hear more power tube breakup. Well, this works really well with the Balinese amps too! The kit uses a JJ 5751 for V1 to drop the gain along with two ECC83S's with one being current balanced for the phase inverter in V3 and a GZ34 rectifier tube. The default power tubes are a matched pair of the JJ 6L6GC's. With the Customize option you can configure this kit to use the JJ 5881's or the JJ 6V6S's which will drop the power output a couple decibels and also choose between the JJ GZ34 or the JJ 5Y3S rectifier tube.

The Balanced ECC83S is located in V3 closest to the power tubes and the 5751 is located in V1.

All 6L6GC Combo amp Retube Kits are shipped with the Eurotubes Double Mica 6L6GC’s at no extra charge. JJ Electronic started building us a proprietary version of their 6L6GC (the 6L6GC-DM) in 2005 with extra layers of mica. This reinforces the plate structure and all but eliminates tube rattle symptoms. If you play by yourself or record with the amp you might want to consider using one of you EuroDamper tube damper rings for the GZ34. These are available under the "Related Products" tab and will greatly decrease tube rattle.

These amps are cathode bias so the JJ 6L6GC's, 5881's or the 6V6S's are plug and play.
